Our mission is to promote quality wines and craftsmanship with Stefan Voda Protected Geographical Indication
The Association of Wine Producers with the STEFAN VODA Protected Geographical Indication was founded on June 15, 2011, by grape and wine producers, who carry out their economic activity in the defined geographical area and who, over the years and through tradition, had created for themselves a well-known name, both nationally and internationally.
The association operates based on the Statutes approved by the General Assembly and it was registered with the Ministry of Justice. Its activity is coordinated by the Board of Directors headed by the President of the Association and by its supreme body, the General Assembly.
Production of wines is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the specifications for production of wines with Stefan Voda Protected Geographical Indication as approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry on October 12, 2011. Later, the Specifications were amended, the changed version being effective as of April 20, 2018.
The Association has established an Internal Control and Ethics Commission, which consists of a Vineyard Subcommittee and a Wine Subcommittee. The subcommittees annually check compliance with the requirements of the Specifications by registered producers, as well as compliance with the requirements of the Specifications on plantations and wineries. Producers are to be registered for production of STEFAN VODA PGI grapes and wines.
A Tasting Comittee was also established within the Association, which periodically checks the quality of wines and their compliance with the requirements of the Specifications.
